The Butter dish is in the famous Chintz “NANTWICH” pattern. Chintz is the pattern for English china with an overall floral design reminding the English gardens in full bloom.
The firm was established by Leonard Lumsden Grimwade in Hanley at Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire in 1885. Royal Winton was highly regarded for its Chintz pattern. This piece does have a few chips and some crazing as shown in photos. circa 1934-1950.
